The Malting Company of Ireland Retains EcoVadis Platinum Accreditation

We are delighted to share that The Malting Company of Ireland (MCI) has retained its EcoVadis Platinum accreditation, recognising our continued commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.

EcoVadis assesses companies across a range of sustainability criteria, including environmental impact, labour and human rights, ethics, and responsible procurement. Retaining Platinum status reflects the ongoing work taking place across our business and throughout our supply chain to build a more sustainable and responsible malt supply.

For MCI, sustainability starts at the farm. As a farmer-owned business working with a network of 600 Irish growers, we have a close connection to the land and to the people who produce the barley at the heart of our malt. From growing and harvesting through to malting and delivery, traceability and responsible sourcing are central to the way we operate.

Our sustainability commitments also extend beyond our own operations. We are proud to support customers across the brewing and distilling sectors as they work towards their own sustainability goals, providing high-quality Irish malt backed by a supply chain they can trust.

Retaining EcoVadis Platinum is therefore more than an accreditation for MCI. It is recognition of the collective effort of our growers, colleagues, partners and customers who share our ambition to continually improve how we produce and source malt.

From field to maltings, this is an achievement we share together.
