We are proud and excited to be centrally involved in the newly announced pilot Sustainability Assurance Scheme for Irish tillage, launched in December 2025 by Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon TD.

This pilot, developed in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Bord Bia, the Cereals Association of Ireland, and Cropsure, represents a major step forward in recognising and rewarding the sustainability credentials of Irish grain. Importantly, the funding provided ensures there is no additional cost to growers, while opening the door to stronger market returns for farmers who can verify and demonstrate their sustainability performance.

At a time when tillage farmers are navigating significant challenges, this scheme provides a meaningful foundation for strengthening the resilience and long-term viability of the tillage sector.
